The best way to experience Kolkata is to walk on the various streets, navigating through buses, trams, cabs and of course sea of people moving around busily. If you have time, then amid all the chaos walk leisurely on the pavements with oodles of patience and watch life unfold right from the fervent bathing activity at the street side tap spouting out water or brisk business by fish sellers. I often squirm at the hand pulled rickshaws in the streets of Kolkata wondering how people manage to offload their weight on others – inhuman I grumble under my breath. As an afterthought, I realize that I am inhuman, I don’t have an alternative for the rickshaw puller who is perhaps not educated and can only earn through hard labour and if he went off work then he would perhaps starve !!

I know what you mean about the rickshaw guys. I feel sorry for them but then I admire them at the same time!
I hope you are well
