In the Garden – as Fresh as it can get

Nature renews itself every moment and all we need is a fresh pair of eyes and an open mind. Some pictures from the Botanical Gardens in Kolkata which is the largest in Asia and home to many species of birds and bees.

Botanical Gardens in Kolkata is spread over 109 hectares and is home to the great banyan tree which is more than 250 years old. It appears like a forest as you approach the place due to the dense foliage but it is a garden with more than 12000 specimens of plants.

Travel Tip: Located along the river Ganges in Kolkata it can be reached by bus or cab from Esplanade area. Open from 8am to 4pm on all days except Monday. Ideal day trip for nature lovers, photographers and anyone who wants to disconnect for a while. Best visited in a group.
