Life is a Vacation

I wake up to their chirping near my window every morning and over time I have learnt to recognize the change in tone when I am late in bed. As soon as I step out in the balcony, they surround me in expectation and it fills me in with joy and gratitude. They greet me with love every time I am back after a break as if they missed my presence every morning. Who knows maybe it is the divine communicating through them. And as they say in India ” Atithi Devoh Bhavah” ie a guest is the impression of the divine. Whenever I travel, wherever I travel, I invariably find a few of them atleast. Whether they seek me out or I seek them out is yet to be unraveled but my morning habit of feeding them, talking to them has taught me understand their emotions which is just like us humans…
