Paratha with a Twist in Indian Paratha Company

The word Paratha evokes an instant image in my mind; a soft round wheat bread with spicy potato filling, pan fried and served with dollops of butter and some pickle or curd on the side. When the 24th FBAB (Food Bloggers Association, Bangalore) meet was fixed at Indian Paratha Company; I was glad to be a part of it. At the end of the meet, I had the taste of parathas that are focused on taste and flavour beyond the utterly butterly types.

Indian Paratha Company is on the Service Road of the main highway a few kilometres ahead of the ramp that leads to Bangalore Airport. The Swiss Chalet like building is simply not missable. The indoors are tastefully done with a mix of rubber and pine wood and a spattering of sepia toned pictures on the wall. They have seating indoors and outdoors and ample parking space on the adjoining service road.

If you sit outdoors, you can watch the cars zip by, while sipping on your sweet and creamy Patiala Lassi or simply unwind over a tall glass of desi virgin Irish Coffee after that long drive when your legs are craving to stretch.

The creamy Patiala Lassi was energizing after a long drive from town and the pakodas were polished off faster than they arrived on the table. The Achari Masti Paratha which was generously stuffed with pieces of mango pickle lived up to its name. Then came the Paratha with a twist; desi Paratha merged with Italian Pizza for the “Parathzza” which is a very healthy option sans the dollops of butter and cheese. I loved the way it was served, sliced into pieces and served on a wooden platter like a Pizza !!Indian Paratha Company

I am not much of a coffee buff yet I took a sip of the virgin version of Irish Coffee which looked too inviting against the setting sun!! Every meal of mine needs to end with a sweet and it is hard to distract me from Kulfi and this one in India Paratha Company was soft, sweet and melted on my tongue. Indian Paratha Company

Indian Paratha Company is the concept of foodie couple Gunjan and Nirmal Sandhu who aim to serve fresh and healthy food on the highway. Food is definitely healthy, I could hardly feel the oil or spice but the prices are on the higher side. Well; that’s the premium you pay for a clean outlet in the middle of a busy highway with few options and of course food that does not compromise on your health. Looking forward to Vegan Items on their menu; which will make them really unique on the highway where the well heeled, health conscious technocrats zip in and out of town!!

Thanks to FBAB and Indian Paratha Company for this invite!!
